Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell on Monday shared a big update on the status of David Montgomery.
Campbell said that Montgomery suffered a bruised thigh in the team’s 37-31 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Montgomery is said to be day-to-day.
That is some really good news for the Lions considering how things were looking on Sunday.
Montgomery appeared to have suffered a knee injury against Seattle.
After the game, Mongtomery was hobbling through the locker room and reportedly said the injury could take a couple of weeks to heal.
Based on the expectations Montgomery had set, if he is only day-to-day, that’s great news.
Montgomery rushed 16 times for 67 yards and a touchdown against Seattle, though he lost a fumble. He has rushed 37 times for 141 yards and 2 TDs this season. The 26-year-old is in his first season with Detroit after spending the previous four with the Chicago Bears.
