Detroit Lions safety CJ Gardner-Johnson joined the team this offseason and wanted to shift the culture, and a part of that was encouraging fans to wear blue ski masks for their home opener on Sunday versus the Seattle Seahawks.
Gardner-Johnson’s idea sounded like a good one, but one that unfortunately came back to haunt himself and the Lions as they fell in overtime to the Seahawks 37-31.
The Seahawks must have heard about Gardner-Johnson’s plan to populate the stands with blue ski masks and brought some of their own. Seahawks safety Jerrick Reed sure did, as he was seen live on his Instagram after the game wearing a blue ski mask and celebrating with his teammates in a hilarious trolling job that can be seen below.
