Detroit Lions waive WR Tom Kennedy; Michael Brockers (illness) out vs. New York Jets

Detroit Free Press

The illness sweeping through the Detroit Lions locker room has infected another player.

The Lions ruled Michael Brockers out for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, and added running back Justin Jackson to the injury report with an illness.

Brockers, who did not travel with the team, was doubtful to play after missing practice Thursday and Friday. Jackson, the Lions’ kick returner, is questionable.

At least seven players have missed practice time while sick the past two weeks. Aidan Hutchinson, who did not practice Thursday, and Mike Hughes, who missed practice Thursday and Friday, are questionable for Sunday.

The Lions (6-7) activated running back Craig Reynolds from injured reserve Saturday. Reynolds, who has not played since suffering a rib injury in Week 9, will serve as the No. 3 running back if Jackson cannot play.

To make room for Reynolds, the Lions waived receiver Tom Kennedy.

The Lions also elevated linebacker Jarrad Davis and quarterback Josh Dobbs from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
