5 Week 15 fantasy football waiver wire pivot options to replace Jared Goff

SideLion Report

Jared Goff possibly got you into the playoffs in your fantasy football league, but a tough matchup means you should be looking to pivot off him in Week 15.

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff was a top-five fantasy quarterback in both Week 13 and Week 14, and from Week 12-14 he was QB7 in fantasy. Fantasy managers in a bind for a usable option may have made the playoffs based on his helpful performance in one, two or all three of those weeks.

But in Week 15 Goff faces the New York Jets. To say it’s a tough matchup might be putting it too lightly. A profane word can probably be comfortably added to any adjective describing it.

The Jets have allowed zero or one passing touchdown in 10 straight games. Take away what a few quarterbacks have done as runners, and they’ve not allowed 12 fantasy points to a quarterback (Yahoo! scoring) in that entire span. Goff is clearly not a runner, with 51 rushing yards all season as the easiest evidence. His home/road splits this season are also notable, since Sunday’s game is at MetLife Stadium.

If Goff has helped you get to the playoffs in your fantasy league, that’s awesome. But fantasy is a week-to-week game, especially now in the playoffs, and the Lions quarterback can’t be comfortably relied on in Week 15.

If you’re looking for a waiver wire option to pivot to in place of Goff, here are five to consider.
