The Detroit Lions lost a game to the Philadelphia Eagles over the weekend. Now, the Eagles are losing an offensive lineman to the Lions.

The Lions signed offensive guard Kayode Awosika off the Eagles’ practice squad Wednesday to help their depleted offensive line.

The Lions were without three-fifths of their starting line at practice Wednesday. Right guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai underwent back surgery Tuesday in Dallas and is out indefinitely, center Frank Ragnow sat out to rest the groin injury he suffered in practice last week and left tackle Taylor Decker was out for undisclosed reasons.

The Lions also are without backup guard Tommy Kraemer (back).

Awosika, who plays both right guard and right tackle, signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2021 out of Buffalo and spent most of last season on the practice squad. He appeared in one game at tackle late in the season and was re-signed to the practice squad after spending training camp with the Eagles this summer.
