Detroit Lions vs. Philadelphia Eagles Breakdown and Prediction

The Eagles have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. 3rd year QB Jalen Hurts has a big army and can throw the football anywhere on the field. What makes Hurts special is his legs. Hurts can scramble given his duel-threat capability with the run and pass. The lions will have their hands full with the mobile QB. The Lion’s defense has issues stopping a mobile QB and was defeated easily by QB Marcus Mariota in preseason game 1.

The Eagles have one of the fastest WRs in DeVonta Smith. Smith can stretch the field and make big plays with his exceptional catch ability and raw speed. A.J. Brown comes to the Eagles as a physical WR who is physical with a high-end catch radius. The Secondary has shown cracks in the preseason by allowing opposing QBs to go up and down the field with ease.

Advantage: Eagles

The Eagle’s offense is just better right now compared to Lions’ defense. Lion’s defense has shown they are vulnerable against mobile QBs and they got one of the best Sunday.

The Lions’ offense is diverse and can slice teams up in multiple ways. QB Jared Goff has shown confidence all offseason and preseason by finding the open wide receiver and moving the football downfield. The Lions’ offensive line is one of the best in the league and will give Goff time in the pocket.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is a player on the rise. He dominated his defenders last season and has shown no slowdown in the preseason. WR DJ Chark gives offensive coordinator Ben Johnson the ability to stretch the defense. The Lions’ run game has great depth and shows they will run the football all game long.

The lions’ offense is very good. They will have the opportunity to score points Sunday. Will it be enough to come out with a victory?

Eagles: 38, Lions: 32

The Eagles have more talent both on offense and defense compared to the Lions. This will be a very hard task for Detroit to overcome an underrated team in Philadelphia.
