►James Hawkins: These aren’t the same Seahawks of years past. They’ll finish below .500 for the first time with Russell Wilson under center and they have more losses this season (10) than the past two years combined (nine). But the Lions haven’t won at Seattle since 1999 and it’s hard to imagine this depleted, battered bunch ending that streak, even if Jared Goff and D’Andre Swift are both back. They’ll manage to hang tough but will come up short in critical moments. Seahawks, 24-17
►John Niyo: The Seahawks are out of the playoff picture for the first time since 2017 and only the second time in the last decade. And after coughing up last week’s game against Chicago, it’s fair to wonder how they’ll respond emotionally. But this could be Russell Wilson’s last game in Seattle, so buyer beware if you’re betting on the Lions. Still, they’ve been a steady winner against the spread the second half of this season and smart money says that probably continues, even on the road. Seahawks, 28-24
►Justin Rogers: With Jared Goff likely out this week, the Lions are going to look to backup Tim Boyle to guide them get their first West Coast win in a decade. And while these Seahawks are hardly playing the brand of football we’ve grown accustomed to in recent years, they’ll never be a pushover as long as they’re led by the ever-dangerous Russell Wilson. The veteran quarterback could be riding the emotional wave of potentially playing his last home game in a Seahawks uniform. Defensively, Seattle is stingy against the run, allowing 3.7 yards per carry. Detroit will need to find a way to keep the chains moving with the passing attack, which is depleted beyond Goff due to injuries and COVID. Add in inclement conditions and pulling off the road win is a tall task. Seahawks 24, Lions 16
►Bob Wojnowski: These are the Seahawks as we’ve almost never seen them, 5-10 and out of the playoffs for only the second time with Russell Wilson at quarterback. It’s another winnable game for the Lions, but whether Jared Goff or Tim Boyle starts is immaterial at this stage. Dan Campbell will keep experimenting with play-calling and going for it on fourth down, and Aaron Glenn’s patchwork defense will keep the Lions in the game. Even with nothing to play for, the Seahawks still have Wilson and running back Rashaad Penny, and the 2-12-1 Lions still have youngsters and backups everywhere. Seahawks 26-20
