Amon-Ra St. Brown joins select fantasy football company vs. Falcons

SideLion Report

Amon-Ra St. Brown has been very productive lately, and on Sunday he joined some nice company in terms of fantasy production.

Due in part to the absences of D’Andre Swift and T.J. Hockenson, Amon-Ra St. Brown has emerged as the Detroit Lions‘ best offensive player over the last few weeks. But that’s not meant to undersell the rookie wide receiver out of USC, who has found a stride independent of who else has been available.

Over the three games before Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, St. Brown had 26 catches for 249 yards and two touchdowns (on 35 targets, at least 11 in all three). In standard fantasy scoring, he was WR5 from Week 13-15 (WR3 in full PPR).

In the first half on Sunday, St. Brown had six catches for 54 yards with his third touchdown in the last four games. He now has more than 15 fantasy points (full PPR), in four straight games. But when he cleared 14.5 full PPR points against Atlanta, he joined some elite company.

Amon-Ra St. Brown in some elite company among rookie fantasy receivers

Via ESPN lead fantasy football maven Matthew Berry, seven rookie wide receivers have had four straight games with more than 14.5 fantasy points (again, full PPR)–Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Aiyuk, Justin Jefferson, A.J. Brown, Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen and now St. Brown.

Just from within the Lions’ building, St. Brown has drawn some nice comparisons to wide receivers past as well as present as he keeps pushing some franchise marks for rookie pass catchers to fresh heights.

With his production spike coming at a good time, in line with the last weeks of the fantasy football regular season and into the playoffs, St. Brown is now in some very good company in that light among rookie wide receivers over the last decade.
