Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell’s news conference recap

Detroit Free Press

After very nearly a year — their previous win came on Dec. 6, 2020 — the Detroit Lions are victorious again!

It wasn’t easy, with a 14-point halftime lead wiped out in the fourth quarter, but when are Lions wins ever easy? The win brings them to 1-10-1, which is probably about as well as draft pick fans want them to do. The Jets and Texans both lost Sunday to drop to 2-10, a half a game behind the Lions for the No. 1 overall pick — and they play each other later this month.

Coming up, though, it’s on to Denver; the Broncos just couldn’t keep up with the Chiefs on Sunday night, dropping back to 6-6. They’re beatable, especially if quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (who was offered to the Lions in a potential Matthew Stafford deal) keeps throwing pick-sixes like he did Sunday night in Kansas City. Can the Lions win two straight for the first time since Oct. 18-25, 2020?
