Any Lions fan who watched Calvin Johnson play over his nine seasons in Detroit couldn’t have been surprised the wide receiver was selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

Of course, Johnson was too busy playing to watch himself, which explains his reaction to football’s highest honor, filled with stunned looks of shock and amazement.

Surprised at his home by Hall of Fame president David Baker, Johnson alternated between smiles, laughter and tears as Baker talked about Johnson’s future bust that will be displayed in the Hall in Canton, Ohio.

“Ah, I got tears on my face,” Johnson said in a video clip released by the NFL on Saturday night, before talking about the hard work he put into his career, which included the NFL’s single-season record for receiving yards in 2012.

The clip ended with Johnson telling the camera, “I’m sleeping with a smile tonight.”

So are a lot of Lions fans, Megatron.
