Detroit Lions’ Kenny Golladay, Matthew Stafford get some respect on ESPN’s top-100 list

Detroit Free Press

If Kenny Golladay’s excellence was a secret, the cat’s out of the bag.

The Detroit Lions wideout — coming off a 1,190-yard, 11-touchdown season — joined quarterback Matthew Stafford on ESPN’s ranking of the top 100 NFL players for the 2020 season. Stafford was ranked the 52nd-best player (12th-best QB), and Golladay came in as the league’s 76th-best player (11th-best WR).

That’s it. Those are the two. No love for the Lions’ defense.

At least they’re not the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Washington Football Team, each of which does not have a top-100 player, according to the Worldwide Leader.

The Lions’ division rival, the Chicago Bears, employ a pair ranked among the league’s best: pass-rusher Khalil Mack (No. 21) and safety Eddie Jackson (No. 75). Detroit native Allen Robinson and his 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns apparently just missed the cut.

The Minnesota Vikings’ addition of Yannick Ngakoue (No. 66) put them at seven players on the list — tied with the New Orleans Saints and defending-champion Kansas City Chiefs for most in the NFL.

Green Bay came in with six players on the list, led by its quarterback. You may have heard of him.
